Much Cooler Online

The Brad Paisley video is hilarious, a middle aged man living with his parents living in the basement. He is a pizza delivery guy during the day but a mack daddy online by night. He appears to be more confident online, his imagination is free to run wild and he can be anyone he wants. During his everyday life Jason Alexander is made fun of and harassed, but when he is online he can make up who he wants to be and that person is Brad Paisley. By the end of the video he has the courage to be himself, and as the girl out next door. From videos such as these we can only more solidly conclude that people really do falsify information on communication websites such as MySpace. Although not all people do this, it is much easier to do without being caught. Just like in the video he was 6’5” and lost weight, but in reality he is what barely 6 feet tall? No one would know he was lying; fake pictures could be posted to keep the fasaud going, and no one knows what is real and what is false. Basically I guess I am saying that really you can never know someone fully online without knowing them at some point in the real world. There is too much lying, and deceit in our world for me to fall in love with someone because of their MySpace page. It is already difficult to trust the internet as a source of valid information due to people posting crap that is not true, so why would you believe someone who tells you they are a handsome, single, business man, living in Manhattan and is looking for a nice woman to settle down with. Sounds like a load of b.s. to me, but people fall for it everyday. If this wasn’t the case then why would online dating services such as EHarmony, Match, and Matchmaker still exist? It is because people actually use them and believes they will find love; these websites are not only thriving but expanding at ridiculously fast rates. It seems like every time I watch TV another company has emerged for the world of online dating. If it makes sense to some people then all the power to them, but for me I need a physical being. I will admit that I too have put information online that is not exactly the truest to my knowledge, and I guess that is the reason why I am so critical of dating sites and communication networks. I realize how easy it was for me to put up information that wasn’t true and no one every questioned my honesty, this raises flags for me that people are that naive as to the people online that could actually cause them harm, with their lies. Although this was just a music video, and yes it has a cute message, that you can be someone else online if you are not happy with whom you are in real life. Eventually however someone will find out, and then the road back to trust is longer then the first of accepting who you are from the start.
